Rules of Formal Essay Writing

Rules of Formal Essay WritingThe rules of formal essay writing can be broken down into two basic categories - the rules of sentence structure and rules of punctuation. These rules are the bread and butter of many different writing styles. For instance, the rules of composition for literary and academic writing, the rule of four, and the rules of punctuation for news and popular writing. What does it mean to break these rules? First off, they tend to make essays harder to read. The introduction, the first paragraph, and the body of the essay have to stand out in order to grab the reader's attention and the writer's attention. The rules of formal essay writing include and are limited to various rules of sentence structure. The rules of formal essay writing cannot be relied upon to grant the writer's abilities the 'insider's' knowledge they feel they need in order to write well. These things will make it very difficult for a writer to know what to put in order to gain that edge over the c ompetition. This is why most people, when they are confronted with the rules of formal essay writing, feel intimidated by them and rush to find someone who has experience with these things. Also, the rules of formal essay writing limit the type of writing to that which can be categorized as fiction or non-fiction and this can greatly limit the writing ability of college students. Most college students will be told that fiction writing is far different than any other type of writing and most college students have not been exposed to this type of writing so therefore, it is even more intimidating for them to write their own fictional work.Writing essays on any topic is a big task. Writing essays is considered a skill that requires experience and practice. A writer that is good at grammar and knows how to write well has a huge advantage over someone that knows the rules of formal essay writing. When a writer knows the rules of sentence structure, rules of punctuation, and is capable of p roducing essays that are clear and informative then they can write essays on virtually any topic. Once they know these things, then they can begin to learn how to write for different types of readers. They will also be able to write about a wide variety of topics and not get too bogged down in writing the rules of essay writing. One can break down these rules into a few categories - be it a formal essay or a research essay, a non-fiction essay, a contemporary essay, or a novel. Once a writer begins to break down these rules they will then start to understand exactly what they need to do to make their essays flow well. It is not difficult to write a research essay but much harder to write a contemporary essay that has the proper guidelines in place. The rules of essay writing are there to help writers become better writers. A writer must know how to be a better writer in order to write well and to be successful in the business of writing.
